AngelQ.ai App Privacy Policy

Effective as of January 31st, 2025

Angel AI Company (“Angel AI,” “we,” “us” or “our”) provides a mobile application that allows parents and legal guardians (“Parent”, “Parents” or “you”) to create safe, personalized and conversational learning spaces for their minor children (“Child” or “Children”). Once a Parent establishes an account, they can create a Child profile with custom settings, including screen time management, that provide the Child with a personalized, AI-powered environment in which they can access age-appropriate content such as images, videos, stories, and answers to text and voice questions. This AngelQ.ai App Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how Angel AI handles personal information that we collect through our AngelQ.ai mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy is not intended to cover information that we collect via our website or via other means, such as our social media pages, marketing events or other live events. Children under the age of 13 may only use the App with the express prior consent of their Parent.  If we learn that we have collected personal information from a Child under 13 without the consent of the Parent, we will delete the personal information in accordance with applicable law. If you are a Parent of a Child user under 13 and would like to withdraw your consent or request that we delete the personal information of the Child, please contact us using the information in the “How to contact us” section below.

AngelQ does not collect nor share data with any external parties to support an advertising based business model.

Personal information we collect

Parent account. Personal information you may to provide to us to create the Parent account or when using the App includes:

  • Contact data, such as your first and last name, email address, and phone number.
  • Parent profile data, such as the username, password, and pin number that you may set to establish a Parent profile on the App.
  • Conversation data, based on your interactions with us via the App (including via SMS text messages), such as questions or commands that you may submit.
  • Limited payment data that we may receive from the Apple App Store or other third parties where you complete a transaction involving the App.
  • Transactional data, such as information relating to or needed to complete your orders on the App, including order numbers and transaction history.
  • Relationship data, such as familial or other relationship, including your Child, whose personal information you may provide to us through the App.
  • Other data not specifically listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

Child profile.  Personal information you may provide to us to set up a Child profile or that your Child may provide to us when using the App includes:

  • Information provided by the Parent

o   Profile data, such as the username you may set for your Child to establish a profile on the App (e.g., your Child’s first name), your Child’s age in years and months, profile picture or avatar, developmental level (e.g., reading level), and any interests, hobbies, and other information that you or your Child may add to your Child’s profile.   

o   Other data not specifically listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed to the Parent at the time of collection.

  • Information provided by the Child

o   Limited profile data, such as your Child’s profile avatar and updates to any interests or hobbies.   

o   Conversation data, based on your Child’s interactions with us via the App, such as questions that your Child may submit, either via text or voice prompt, about topics your Child is interested in learning about.  

Automatic data logging.  When you or your Child use the App, we and our service providers may automatically log limited information about your mobile device and you or your Child’s interaction with the App, such as:

  • Device data, such as your mobile device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, screen resolution, RAM and disk size, CPU usage, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, unique identifiers, language settings, mobile device carrier, and radio/network information (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 3G).
  • Online activity data, such as information about your or your Child’s activity in the App.

How we use your personal information

We may use your and your Child’s personal information for the following purposes or as otherwise described at the time of collection. However, we do not use or sell your Child’s personal information for targeted advertising purposes:

Service delivery. We may use your and your Child’s personal information to:

  • Provide the App to you and your Child;
  • Personalize the App experience, such as generating personalized answers and content in response to questions that you or your Child may submit through the App;
  • Adapt and present the media content in the App based on the Child’s age and interests;
  • Communicate with you, such as by responding to messages that you send to us;
  • Understand your and your Child’s needs and interests; and
  • Provide support for the App, and respond to your requests, questions and feedback.

Compliance and protection. We may use your and your Child’s personal information to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities;
  • Protect our, your, your Child’s, or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims);
  • Audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements or our internal policies;
  • Enforce the terms and conditions that govern the App; and
  • Prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft.

Research and development. We may use your and your Child’s personal information for research and development purposes, including to analyze and improve the App and to further develop features on the App. For example, we may use your Child’s personal information and search queries to improve the App to make sure it is providing more useful answers to questions your Child submits and to improve the underlying algorithm in the App.

Service improvement and analytics. We may use your and your Child’s personal information to analyze your and your Child’s usage of the App, improve the rest of our business, and help us understand user activity on the App.

To create anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data. We may create anonymous, aggregated or de- identified data from your and your Child’s personal information and other individuals whose personal information we collect. We make personal information into anonymous, aggregated or de-identified data by removing information that makes the data identifiable to you or your Child.

How we share your personal information

We may share your and your Child’s personal information with the following parties and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy or at the time of collection.

Service providers. Third parties that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the App or our business (such as hosting, information technology, generative artificial intelligence platforms, customer support providers, and email delivery providers). We strive to make sure that any third party with whom we share your personal information will provide the same or equal protection for your personal information as we do.  These service providers may have access to or maintain personal information from you or your Child on our behalf.  If you have any questions about the service providers, please contact Angel AI using the contact information below:

Professional advisors. Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, bankers and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.

Authorities and others. Law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties, as we believe in good faith to be necessary or appropriate for the compliance and protection purposes described above.

Business transferees. Acquirers and other relevant participants in business transactions (or negotiations of or due diligence for such transactions) involving a corporate divestiture, merger, consolidation, acquisition, reorganization, sale or other disposition of all or any portion of the business or assets of, or equity interests in, Angel AI (including, in connection with a bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

Public or other users. No Parent or Child user’s information is made available or visible generally to the public or other users through the App, except that a Parent may view their Child’s information through their connected account.

Your choices

As a Parent, you may have the following choices with respect to your and your Child’s personal information:

Access or update your personal information. If you have registered for a Parent account or set up a Child profile with us, you may review and update certain account or profile information, including your or your Child’s name, age, and interests, by logging into your account or by contacting us using the information in the “How to contact us” section below. A Child cannot change the personal information in their profile such as name or age provided by their Parent.

Declining to provide information. We need to collect personal information to provide certain services in connection with the App. Otherwise, the provision of your personal information is voluntary to use the App. For example, you may wish to provide a fantasy name instead of your Child’s real first name.

Withdrawing consent. If you are a Parent and would like to withdraw your consent for your Child to use the App or request that we delete the personal information of your Child, please contact us using the information in the “How to contact us” section below.

Delete your content or close your account. You may choose to delete certain content, or choose to delete your Parent account or the profile of your Child, by navigating to your settings page within the App. You may also choose to delete your Parent account or your Child’s profile by contacting us using the information in the “How to contact us” section below.

Retention

We generally retain personal information to fulfill the purposes for which we collected that information, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements, to establish or defend legal claims, or for fraud prevention purposes. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we may consider factors such as the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information, and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and applicable legal requirements.

When we no longer require the personal information we have collected about you or your Child, we may either delete it or anonymize or deidentify it.

Other sites and services

While the App does not provide links to third party websites or other online services in response to your Child’s prompts, the App may contain other links to or integrations with third-party websites or services. These links and integrations are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. We do not control websites, mobile applications or online services operated by third parties, and we are not responsible for their actions. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of the other websites, mobile applications and online services you use.

Security

We employ organizational and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, security risk is inherent in all internet and information technologies, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

International data transfer

We are headquartered in the United States and may use service providers that operate in other countries. Your personal information may be transferred to the United States or other locations where privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your state, province, or country.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on the App or other appropriate means. Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon our posting the modified version (or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting). In all cases, your use of the App after the effective date of any modified Privacy Policy indicates your acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.
